Moving Moving Moving!

So for about the entire month of May I was sure that we were moving out around Mid-June. Then just last week I found out our new place will be ready for us the first week of June and that means I need to get a move on packing! I really haven't started or done much yet. I'm slacking.

I'm excited to be moving out though. Devon and I haven't really been lucky when it comes to our neighbors. They aren't the best. But I heard from the front office that our new neighbors are awesome and very "cool" as they put it. That's exciting in a way. I'll just be glad to finally have a two bedroom apartment and Kira and Landon can have their own room and I'm above excited to decorate and furnish their room. I'm planning on going to Ikea this weekend and buying loads of new stuff! I'm way excited about that. Well, I guess it's time for me to pack a bit more!

Baby Fever!

As Kira gets older, the more I long to have another baby! I just can't seem to escape this baby fever bug I've caught! I know I want children close in age and "back to back", but it seems things in our life aren't the best right now. I currently have an IUD so that helps me restrain my baby fever, but I already want to see a doctor about removing it.

I feel so much more confident about being pregnant again and giving birth. I wasn't sure what to expect when I had Kira, and I feel like I enjoyed the last half of my pregnancy. With baby number two I want to fully enjoy my pregnancy. I can't wait until Kira can see my belly grow and show her ultrasounds of her brother or sister. I want to do a gender reveal party and I want to try my hardest to stick with breastfeeding. So many different little things that I want to do again and experience before I become used to my daughter being "independent" and sleeping through the night, not using diapers, walking, talking etc.

The only tiny thing that is holding me back is my weight. I don't want to feel shame for being overweight or "big" during my pregnancy. Although I've never really talked about this with my boyfriend, I do worry what family members or other people might think or say. I've tried looking for help on the internet and I came across a WONDERFUL site. It's called Plus Size Birth. It's all about loving your body, accepting yourself, and everything from plus size pregnancy clothes to baby wearing! I'm very excited to have found this site and I even joined their facebook group to chat amongst other Plus Size Momma's. Reading their stories and seeing their pictures of belly bumps to hospital and home births has really opened my eyes in the way I view plus size pregnancy. I hope when the time is right, I'll get pregnant again. Until then, I have my hands full with my little one. :)

Mother's Afternoon Tea Party!

Today my mother and I attended a Afternoon Tea Party to celebrate Mom's who attend The Center For Pregnancy. The center is an AMAZING place that I found when I first was pregnant.
I was contemplating all my options and I found this center. They truly are a very welcoming and loving place to go to and I couldn't wait to have a mini Mother's Day.

It was held at a church and the setup was gorgeous. I've never been to an actual Tea Party, so I have nothing to compare the decorations to, but trust me... it was fancy and gorgeous. I felt so fancy walking in.

The tables and main entrance set up.
Build a Cookie Bar!
Prizes and goodie bag area!

As you can see, it was so decorated so beautifully. I forgot to take pictures of the different "stations" on the floor, but the sections included: Photo Area, Pedicure and Manicure Area, Build a Cookie Bar and of course, the actual tea and snack sections where we could sit and chat and relax!

The tables were each decorated by a different volunteer and everything was beautiful!

"Moms are a Blessing"
Look at all the great finger foods and desserts!
Cucumber Sandwiches and Tea!
Beautiful table setting!
Our table even had cupcakes made just for us!

I felt so pampered the whole day and then it was time for door prizes! We had all entered our names into a drawing and soon everyone started getting a prize. I kept waiting to hear my name since ironically we had the same number of people to the same number of gifts, so everyone was going to leave with something good for sure.

Finally my name was called.... And I won the GRAND PRIZE!

A $150 gift card to Target!!

By the end of the party, I had a goodie bag, jar filled with ingredients to make my own cookies, prints of pictures from the photo session. flowers, my gift card and a fresh coat of paint on my fabulous toes!

Cookie Jar and Desserts in my goodie bag!

Flowers given to me by the volunteers there!

All in all, it was the BEST Tea Party I've ever been to. I'm looking forward to next years Mother's Day out!

Yochi Yochi Shoes Review!

So a couple of months ago I was thinking of getting Kira some squeaky shoes (since she loves to take off her shoes and go barefoot) and I figured some squeaky shoes would help her keep shoes on and learn to like wearing shoes, and I came across Yochi Yochi Shoes! I contacted them on their Facebook Page  and asked a couple of questions and they sent me a pair for Kira to review! I got them in a couple of weeks ago but due to busy schedules and packing up to move into a bigger place at the end of the month, I haven't been able to write my review. So without further ado, here it is!

I got a pair of the Princess Sakura Shoes (Pink Panda) due to the overwhelming cuteness and with most of the pink outfits Kira has, they'd be easy to match them with anything.

Here are the other designs they currently offer!

Well once we got the package in the mail, Kira was VERY excited to see what the package was. She helped me opened the box and take the package out. The Yochi shoes came wrapped in an adorable little knapsack with the shoes inside.

And here are the shoes!! ADORABLE aren't they?!?

Of course Kira immediately wanted to try the shoes out and was trying to put them on her feet herself.

Once they were on, she was in love with the squeaky sounds that the shoes made. She seemed amazed that every time she would move her feet the shoes would squeak.

Trying to figure out where the squeak is coming from.
Stomping around in her shoes!

I honestly thought the shoes would be too loud and have an annoying squeak or that Kira wouldn't want to wear the shoes, but she wants to wear these shoes 24/7! She doesn't talk yet, but she definitely gestures to the shoes and wants to wear them all the time!

Kira wore them over the weekend and when Landon saw her new shoes and heard the squeaky noise they made, he proceeded to call her "Squeakers" and Kira laughed and accepted the nickname. She would purposely stomp and squeak around to make Landon laugh which in turn made her laugh.

The shoes themselves are super easy to put on, Kira is even getting the hang of it, a simple velcro strap that is strong enough that Kira can't take them off as easily as other shoes.

The soles aren't slippery and have a nice grip to them on all different surfaces. Now the VERY BEST PART is... you can remove the "squeaker"!

I know.... Truly amazing. The shoes have small sections on the sides that allow you to "pull" the squeaky part out. Now it's small enough that Kira can't see where it's located and it's not very easy to remove the squeaker, so it's truly for adults to do.

The plastic piece to the right is the squeaker taken out of the shoe.

Even with the squeaker removed Kira enjoys walking and stomping and dancing and playing and everything else in this shoes.

Stomping like crazy!

Matches her outfit awesomely!

I think the design is adorable and Kira seems to love her little shoes! All in all, I really liked this shoes, I do wish they would include a little pouch to store the squeaker piece when you take them out of the shoe.
(In my household, almost everything gets lost) But, that's just a minor detail. Bottom line... This mom is a fan!

If you think these shoes are the cutest thing ever and you want your own pair of Yochi shoes, order HERE!

No More Pacifiers!

So starting this week, we've taken Kira's pacifier away. She's 19 months old now and her two front teeth are starting to turn from sucking on her paci. During the day she doesn't miss it much, but at night... Oh boy!

A whole new side of my toddler awakens. She usually has no problem sleeping in her toddler bed... with a paci. Tonight was one of the worst nights of this week. Crying, temper tantrums, getting out of bed, and screaming for her paci lasted for what seemed forever. (1 hour tops) But finally... she realized Mommy and Daddy weren't giving in and she just passed out.

I know she needs to not have her paci anymore, but it killed me listening to her crying for it. No matter how many times I soothed her, she would start up again asking for her paci. I only hope and pray this weekend will go by smoothly.

I also can't sleep due to all the crying I endured, and I have an early morning ahead of  me full with tons of errands! I'll be lucky to get 3-4 hours of sleep.

Any other Mom's have any advice on how to part with your child's pacifier?

Ride Along

Finally Ride Along came out on Redbox! Devon quickly picked it up on his way home from work and we watched it. It was... hilarious! I wasn't much of a Kevin Hart fan before I met Devon, but after watching his stand up's and some other movies he was in, I'm definitely a fan. We watched it tonight and it had me laughing just about all the way through. I think this movie poster describes their character personalities 100%

It was a great movie to watch along with our great dinner. I recommend it if you're in a need of a good laugh!

Mother's Day

I had the best Mother's Day today!

To start off Devon let me sleep in. After some well appreciated sleep, I woke up to a delicious breakfast that Devon had cooked (with some help from Kira of course)

Yummy!!

Then after breakfast I was presented with some flowers and two beautiful cards. One from Kira and one from Landon that he had picked out last weekend he was with us. :)

This picture doesn't do the flowers justice! They are BEAUTIFUL!

<3 <3 <3

The cards were so nice and my card from Kira was supermom themed and even played music. Kira of course LOVED that and kept opening up my card so the music would keep playing. She also helped pick out my flowers and wanted to sniff them.

After that, we had sort of a lazy day at home, just lounging about and enjoying each others company. After visiting our own Mother's it was time for dinner and I knew where I wanted to go... Outback!

So we got all dressed up and headed off to dinner.

Dinner was great, I even got a carnation and received many "Happy Mother's Day" from strangers and friends and family alike. I hope all you Mom's out there had a great day. It's nice to be appreciated and have our own special day. :D

First Time Swimming!!

Today was such a pretty day that we decided to take Kira swimming for her very first time! We didn't plan on taking her so soon, since she didn't even have a swimsuit, but since I had bought myself a swimsuit earlier on in the week, we figured we'd just run to the store and get her one and take her to the pool!
Here is what my swimsuit looks like. I'm seriously a fan of the mix and match!
It fits me perfectly!

After running to the store and getting some Little Swimmers and a bathing suit, Kira was ready to go!

We found an adorable Nautical themed bathing suit that fit her beautifully! We put on her suit, got into ours and we were ready to go. We had such fun, even though the pool was starting to get a bit cold, Kira didn't mind at all. We had a floatie ring for her, one that she sits in, and she absolutely loved it. I think next time Landon comes over, we are all going to have to go swimming. It tired Kira out and gave Mommy and Daddy a chance to get some sun on our pale winter bodies.

Ninja!

So like I mentioned earlier, my dad went to Japan for a week as a mini vacation and brought back TONS of goodies. Mostly all for Kira but I did happen to get a really awesome gift.

Ninja/Martial Arts fabric from Japan! Isn't it just too cool! I have to find some use for this fabric. I'm thinking either a tub or travel wipes case. This has to be put to good use. Devon loved the design being the being Martial Arts fan that he is.

New Parent Friends!

With Devon's new job at ATT, he started a 10 week training course and knowing him and his personality, he of course made some friends. One guy in particular, Jodie invited Devon and I and the kids out to the Children's Museum with his wife Nancy and their two girls. With us having a membership we gladly accepted and couldn't wait for the weekend to come!

When we first met, the guys of course started talking about work and other things they have in common and kind of left with Landon downstairs to go play. Nancy and I had to bond on our own, which didn't take long though, as we shared so many similar interests and parenting views and quickly started chatting. It was so nice to chat and hang out with another Mommy while Kira and he little girl Chloe went off and had a blast in the tot area!

After playtime we went out to eat and I'm honestly glad Devon met Jodie because now we have a new set of friends who are parents and understand problems and struggles we go through on a daily basis. We also have been invited to Chloe's birthday party which is in a couple of weeks, so we have that to look forward to. Hopefully we can hang out with them before then and get better acquainted!

Yochi Yochi Shoes!

Ok, so I just got confirmation yesterday and I am so excited to be getting a pair of the ADORABLE Yochi Yochi Shoes for my little Kiwi!
They are sending me a pair of the super mega cute Princess Sakura Shoes!

The shoes squeak, but have an option to TURN OFF the squeak! Unheard of, I know!
Anywho, I should be getting the pair shortly and I can't wait to let Kiwi wear them and squeak her little heart out. Hopefully this will help her stop wanting to take her shoes off and go barefoot everywhere.

If you want to order a pair or check out the website, go to Yochi Yochi Shoes!

Music Class

Today, I took Kira to a Kindermusik class! I had no idea what to expect, but we had fun!

The instructor (Ms. Tabby) was nice and the kids there were adorably cute and friendly! At first Kira was kind of shy since she didn't know anyone there or even where I took her, but after a couple of songs and after watching the other kids dance and play around, she enjoyed herself!

She was a bit rough playing, but soon got the hang of it. On one of the songs, another little girl wanted to dance with Kira and quickly grabbed her hands and started swaying.

It was so adorable and I know Kira had a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to more classes and getting a chance to perhaps meet other mom's and potentially make more play dates for Kira. As an extra bonus, it is literally within walking distance from our home, so we can walk to class!

Easter Sunday!

We had a GREAT Easter last night! It felt more like an Easter Weekend since we were celebrating from Friday to Sunday visiting all out family.
(We went and saw Papito, my dad, last weekend since he was in Japan for a week including Easter)

Kira and Landon did about 3 or 4 egg hunts all with different family members and even at a church! They got tons of candy, money, and confetti eggs and they had a blast!

First thing Devon and I did with the kids were dye some eggs. We bought some plastic decorating eggs and honestly, they STINKED! They didn't dye easily and stickers or markers wouldn't stick or show up on the eggs. We eventually went and bought some confetti eggs at Walmart.

Then on Saturday we went and did an egg hunt at our local church and Kira and Landon were in different age groups and both did awesome! From what I hear from Devon Kira was quite the egg hunter and got more eggs than some of the 3 years olds!

Later on Saturday, we went and visited Grandmama and my little brother Zane.
(He is 2 months older than Kira)
My mom had set up a pre mini Easter Egg hunt in the backyard and Landon, Kira and Zane loved it!

This little girl found the hidden eggs EVERYWHERE!

Not  the best smiles, but look at all the eggs they got!

On Sunday, we visited Grandmama again and had Easter brunch. Now that the little one's knew what Easter Egg hunting was all about, we had hidden the eggs a little better and set them kids loose! They got a lot of eggs, and LOVED the confetti eggs the most!

He got both babies with the confetti eggs!
Zane even got himself with an egg!

Afterwards, it was picture time!!

After all that, the kids napped for a bit and then we were on our way to see Grammy and Grampy!
(Devon's Mom and Step-Dad)

There we ate some dinner, visited with the family, and then it was time for... ANOTHER EGG HUNT!
Grammy's backyard is much bigger and she hid the eggs a little too well. Devon and I had to help the kids find most of the eggs, but it was still fun!

After all the egg hunting, we once again took some pictures!

Kira and Daddy with Grampy and Grammy. Can you tell someone is tired?
Aww, she loves her Daddy!

By the end of it all, we had a blast. We got to visit all our family and even though we have to drive around and visit three, sometimes four different houses and share custody of Landon, it's all worth it.
We have a great little family. :D
